Your trip to the United States is fast approaching. Everything is ready for the start, except that without your ESTA, you will not be able to set foot on American soil. It is thus time to worry about formulating your request for ESTA, which must be made within 72 hours before boarding. But where can I get this form? Is physical presence required? What are the paperwork and steps to take? All these questions are answered in this article. To be continued…
ESTA is the American document that allows you to travel to the United States. This is a mandatory document that you will be asked to present both at the time of embarkation and when you arrive in the United States. The document is issued to people travelling on American business or pleasure trips not exceeding three months.
Once ESTA is obtained, the document is valid for 2 years. The delivery time may vary from one hour to several days. Be aware that in any case, you will not be able to take off without having this paper in hand.
Your physical presence is not required to complete the form. In fact, everything happens online. You have the choice to fill in your request to visit either the official website or the specialized websites online. In any case, your request will be processed after you have paid the application fees according to the site you have chosen.
The administration then has 72 hours to reply. You can track your status. It can take three positions: accepted, pending, or refused.
A “pending” status does not necessarily mean that your application will be refused. However, we invite you to consult our article on pending status for more information.
